At Terrey Hills Public School we have a vibrant and exciting music program, with over 2/3 of our student body involved in either ensembles or private tuition. Our students are tutored through an extensive extra-curricular instrumental program with highly skilled specialist music teachers.
We offer multiple ensembles and also the wonderful opportunity to combine our band and strings programs to form our seasonal Terrey Hills Public School Symphony Orchestra. It is very rare for a Primary School to have a full orchestra with String, Winds and Percussion players, especially in a school our size.
Concert Band
The Concert Band is our premier band and is made up of students from Years 3 to 6. Throughout the year, the Concert Band students perform at various school and external events, including the NSW Band Festival and other eisteddfods. On our Music Camp and Workshops, students have intensive workshops with recognised musicians
Crescendo Band
Our Crescendo Band is our entry level school band and continues to grow with students from Years 2 to 6. They have many opportunities to perform at school events and also attend our Music Camp.
Stage Band
Our Stage Band is for advanced Wind, Brass and Rhythm Section players who are also part of our Concert Band. With a focus on developing improvisation skills, these students perform at multiple events throughout each year.
Event Bands
From time to time we form bands for events such as the Big Band Blast, which include former Terrey Hills Public School students. Our event bands allow our students to experience and perform in the wider music community and have access to many dynamic programs and workshops with industry leaders.
